O.S.E.A 71 and NC12 Reach Tentative Agreement - Part 2
Your bargaining team met with the District Administration today, Monday, July 20, 2009, and we have reached a tentative agreement (T.A.) in our efforts to reduce classified layoffs. The T.A. is a result of your comments from our recent survey, and a closure of our Tentative Agreement: Part 1 that we ratified on June 16.
Highlights include:
· A reduction of two specific days (Non-Instructional) to be named at a later date.
· A one year suspension of the first two days of paid business/emergency leave.
· A one year suspension of the Professional Development fund.
· And we were able to negotiate that IA’s whose hours are reduced by less than 21% will not suffer a loss of benefits contribution from the district.
NOTE: All of the agreements expire on June 30, 2010.
These changes will reduce the total Reduction in Force from a potential of 40 FTE positions to 14 FTE position or less. (1 FTE = $25,000 and is based on an 8 hour – 260 day contract.)
